How to apply

Step 1:

Our priority applicants come from the Social Housing Register (SHR) with the Ministry of Social Development (MSD). This consists of a list of individuals looking for housing which is prioritised on need. Community housing providers such as ourselves, have access to this register so it is in your best interest to also apply to MSD for a housing assessment. Step 2:

  • download a fillable text application form to complete

Application Form

  • download the doctors consent form for your regular doctor to complete. Our villages are designed for independent living and it is important that you are able to live independently, with help or support if necessary.

Once completed

  • email signed application form, doctors consent form with a copy of proof of identification. This can be a copy of either your birth certificate, drivers licence or passport.
  • email to: or post to PO Box 8475, Symonds Street, Auckland 1150.
  • or call us on 0800 430 101 for an application pack.

Note: Prior to submitting the application form it must be signed by the applicant.


Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for a home, applicants must meet all of the criteria below:


Be fully eligible for New Zealand National Superannuation+ at the time of application.


Earn no more than the New Zealand National Superannuation amount from their main source of income.


Own no more than $40,000 worth of assets ($60,000 for a couple).  This includes both cash and non-cash assets as defined by New Zealand Work and Income for the Accommodation Supplement.

Live independently:

Able to live independently within an intensive housing environment.  This means that you are able to look after yourself or engage and/or manage any support services that you might require, and contribute constructively to harmonious community life within a residential village.

Housing requirement:

This must be current and not a possible future need.

Connection to the area:

A familiarity necessary to enable engagement and avoid social isolation and helplessness, and where applicable it is desirable for you to maintain existing links to social agencies and services.

When we receive your completed application, and assuming all criteria’s are met, we will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient time for an interview. You are welcome to have a support person and/or interpreter present.
